Fabulous Fitting Part 1

Grey mannequin on teal background at The Sewing Room MalvernLearn to take super accurate measurements and transfer these to a ready-made pattern to ensure a perfect fit before cutting out your fabric.

Each student will be taught how to measure properly, taking over 20 personal body measurements which will be used to check against a garment pattern.  Demonstrations and in-depth guidance will be given on how to translate these measurements to the pattern and how to change the pattern pieces to ensure a better fit before starting your garment.

Level 2: Intermediate/Experienced        Cost: £60        Next start date: tbc       Time: 9.30 – 1.00pm

Duration: Half day

Fabulous Fitting Part 2

Grey mannequin on teal background at The Sewing Room MalvernCreate new styles from the patterns you already have.

This workshop shows you how, by manipulating pattern pieces, you can create a myriad different designs from a basic bodice and skirt pattern.

Demonstrations with handouts and practical ‘playing’ time on quarter size pattern pieces ensures that students have samples and notes they can refer back to at a later date.

Level 2: Intermediate/Experienced        Cost: £60        Next start date: tbc        Time: 10-3.00pm

Duration: One day

Fabulous Fitting Part 3

Grey mannequin on teal background at The Sewing Room MalvernCreate your own personal bodice block.

Make a pattern that’s guaranteed to fit your unique shape!

Rather than measuring and drafting flat we start with a standard calico bodice block for your size.  I will then individually fit each student and teach how to transfer the fitting alterations to a pattern which is uniquely theirs.

At the end of the workshop each student will leave with a perfectly fitted personal, bodice pattern in a non-degradeable material to use over and over again which can then be used to create a myriad different styles.

Because of the individual attention to each student, the class size will be limited to just 3 students per class and be held in my studio at Bransford.

Level 2-3: Experienced        Cost: £120        Next start date:tbc        Time:10-3.00pm
